We enjoyed sharing our Christmas performance with our families, visited Church, decorated the Pre School, created penguin biscuits and taken part in lots of festive activities! Merry Christmas everyone! Singing our Christmas songs!

December brings lots of Christmas themed fun! We have played with 'snow', decorated our tree, written letters to Father Christmas, sewed some Christmas stockings, danced to Christmas music, listened to Christmas stories and of course practised our Christmas show ready for our families to watch next week!

Every week we have a letter focus, this week the letter was 'T/t'. Lots of fun learning and playing opportunities linked to our letter of the week. T is for...train, t-rex, tree, teeth and many more! The Tiger who came to tea!

We have been learning about road safety week and included it in lots of our activities. From driving cars, mark making with vehicles and spotting tyre tracks, scooping and pouring with diggers and even a special traffic light themed snack!

This week we have celebrated 'World Nursery Rhyme week'. Of course we have been singing lots of songs but also used nursery rhymes to help us learn new vocabulary, practise counting forwards and backwards, build and construct and practise mark making and crafting skills, Can you spot the Nursery rhymes we learned about this week?

Each week Claire comes to teach French and we really love her sessions. This week we have been practising how to introduce ourselves and say how we are feeling in French. We also counted to 5 and listened to a story in French too!

Children created a large poster filled with printed poppies which we proudly displayed in the window to show our respect for all the members of the armed forces who fought in the past and those serving now. We ensure we talk to the children in an age appropriate way and help them understand significant events and think about why we see poppies at this time of the year.

Lots of fun learning about Bonfire Night including making firework printed pictures, using our shape knowledge to create rocket shapes and even making our own edible sparklers! Sensory mark making!

This week we have been learning all about Diwali. A fantastic opportunity to celebrate cultural diversity and encourage the core values of tolerance and respect. We have enjoyed making special rainbow toast to add to our snack bar, created Diya lamps, had a go at henna style hand decorating, danced to Diwali music with colourful scarves and used books and puppets to learn more about this amazing festival! On Saturday the Pre School hosted a special Halloween themed event for the local community. A fun filled afternoon of crafts, games, scavenger hunts, face painting and spooky selfies! All funds raised go straight back to the Pre School to ensure we can continue to offer the very best learning experiences for every child. All set up and ready!

This week included collaging Autumn trees, hammering golf tees into pumpkins, conker weighing and counting, exploring inside pumpkins and much more! An Autumnal train ride!
